Retaining Wall Construction

We recently worked with Dan to build our patio and we are thrilled with the results. During our first meeting to discuss the project, Dan listened to our ideas and provided additional design suggestions that fit perfectly into how we envisioned the space. He and his team worked incredibly hard throughout the hot summer weather, added unique custom detailing to the project, and delivered a beautiful outdoor space for our family. Fernald landscaping is definitely one of those companies well worth using for repeat business. We had always had problems in our front yard with grass wanting to grow, and reached out to (Dan) Fernald for ideas. He felt that a retaining wall with tiered garden would help to level off the area and provide something more interesting than dead grass. We let him have at it and were so thrilled with the result! Next, we had a general idea for a garden next to a new walkway we had installed. He took our ideas and really made our vision come alive. Our most recent project was to provide something additional privacy for our above ground pool. We have an unusual layout to our yard, but we knew that if anyone could figure out a solution, Dan Fernald could. What resulted was a beautiful raised garden containing 6 arborvitae, and an additional 2 maple trees along our property line. The grass is just starting to come in, but this is yet another amazing project of his. For each project, Fernald was very communicative about dates, prompt on being able to provide estimates, and provided what we feel is fair pricing for the work. And in the end he’s been successful 3 times for us. It’s hard to find enough positive adjectives to use for him, his crew and the work he has done for us.

Dan did a great job to regrade, level, and install a new lawn in my yard. In addition, he picked up and improved upon some other contractor work by properly creating a drainage bed for the rain gutters that were piped into the ground and building a small retaining wall around some outdoor equipment and shed, again…essentially shoring up and beautifying a general contractors previous work. I noticed several times how Dan is very thorough in his work. He is not rushing off to the next job and really goes above and beyond the work ethic and job completeness you typically see these days. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Fernald Landscaping for any landscaping job. Great work, thank you!
